One month after the launch of our open source event and fault management platform  we want to hear how you are using our software and what it is that you are managing with it.

We are offering one lucky community member the chance to win an Apple IPHONE 3GS or HTC Hero ANDROID phone.  All you have to do is tell us how you are using the RiverMuse software and what it is that you are monitoring with it.  We are looking for the most interesting and unusual customisation here, so let your imagination run wild in how you can deploy the system to monitor your coffee machine, coke dispenser,  highway toll booth or aircraft departure delays!  The sky is the limit with our flexible event capture and rules engineering. So show us what you can do!

1.       You must be using RiverMuse Core.

2.      You must be a registered member of the RiverMuse community (click here to register)

3.      Show us how inventive you can be.  Submit your 150 words (or less) summary of what you are monitoring with RiverMuse Core and why to this forum thread.

4.      Attach a screen shot of your RiverMuse console doing what you describe in (3) above.

5.      We may request further evidence that you are actually monitoring what you describe (even though it may be almost inconceivable that someone would attempt to cheat)...

6.      You must be willing to be named in publicity during and after this competition.

7.      No employee of RiverMuse is eligible to enter this competition.

8.      The prize is an Apple IPHONE 3GS or an Open Source HTC Hero ANDROID phone (the winner may chose which of these two phones they would like), no alternative prize is available.

9.      Do not enter if you live in a jurisdiction where such competitions are illegal, RiverMuse will not award the prize to an entrant in breach of local laws.

10.  The winner will be decided by the RiverMuse Community Steering Board who will decide at their absolute discretion the entry that is deemed to be both unusual and innovative.  The board's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

11.  Closing date for entries is 6th October 2009.  The winner will be announced on this forum on the 20th October 2009.

Good luck and happy innovating!
