RiverMuse desktop

RiverMuse Core Edition 3.4.3 & 3.4.4

The RiverMuse desktop enables you to view and interact with the information retrieved from a network. The desktop presents alert management in a clear and simple manner, making it easy for you to focus on vital information and thus saving time and effort in managing problems on the network.

The desktop maintains a consistent layout regardless of what is being displayed. This layout is made up of a series of icons, and a component launch pad accessible through the Start button.

Start

The Start button accesses a menu that contains the Login and Logout dialogs, as well as, links for the Alert Console, User Management GUI, Process Management GUI, System Settings Window, Alert Rules GUI and Tool Execution Daemon (TED). You can also activate the Alert Console, or any of the management GUIs/Windows by double clicking on the appropriate icon on the desktop. To start a session, login by typing your user name and password in the appropriate fields, as shown in the following example.

Desktop icons

The desktop contains a series of icons that enable you to launch different applications. The table provides the image, name and function of each icon.

Icon Name Function
Alert Console Allows you to track and manage alerts in your network.
User Management Allows you to create and manage user accounts, as well as, define roles within the system.
Process Management Enables you to centrally manage remote processes on Linux and Windows platforms.
System Settings Enables you to configure the rivermuse database settings, mail (SMTP) settings, and web service settings.
TED Tool Execution Daemon (TED). Allows you to download the Process Manager Agent, and Snare Agent for Windows platforms. Works in conjunction with the Process Management GUI.
Alert Rules Allows you to create and edit the rules that omosd uses to create alerts from events.
